The Crosby Street Hotel Loves Dogs, No?

Last year when we checked into the Crosby Street Hotel we were charmed by the abundance of dog art. The imposing painting in the Drawing Room, the framed collages on the lobby walls, and the paper mâché doggies posed near that big head sculpture in the front window. (Sidenote: since "mâché" means chewed-up paper, it seems like the perfect medium for creating dogs, who know all about this method.) On our return visit last week, we were thrilled to find even more doggies that we hadn't encountered the first time round.
Now, there are framed photo collages of local dogs in the elevators. And when we heard that the second elevator had yet more doggie pictures, we sent ours up empty just to wait for the other one. The dogs' local status seemed to be confirmed by our elevator-mate exclaiming, "There's Bob!" when she spied one of her friend's dogs in the frame.
Because we're dog nuts, and because we miss our Friday dose of Cute Hotel Doggies, we put together this lil' gallery of all the dog-related pieces at Crosby Street. Most of it's accessible to non-guests as well, so next time you pop into the Crosby Bar for an $18 cocktail, don't forget to stroll around and take a peek.
