The makeover, by Seattle-based Dawson Design Associates, tries to play on the resort's island theme with Balinese furniture in teak, mahogany and kapur; bamboo-porcelain tiles; and Asian touches. In the one-bedroom bayside bungalow we checked out, the living area has a sofa with a pull-out queen bed and a leopard-print rug. It also had a flat-screen plasma TV and WiFi, but the latter will cost you an extra $10 a day.
Adjacent to the living room is a dining area, a private patio and a small kitchen space. The kitchen has a mini-fridge but no stove, though maybe you can do some cooking in the fire pits outside.
Since it's the low season, this bayside room is starting at $137 a night, though in the high season it could cost as much as $249.
