Zuma London.

After a rough December, things are looking way up for The EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami. Word today comes that the hotel will get its own outpost of the popular London eatery, Zuma, from German Chef Rainer Becker. But despite the chef's homeland, Zuma is actually inspired by the informal Japanese dining style of Izakaya. In other words, sushi!

ZUMA Miami, will emulate the original London restaurant, with its lounge bar, sushi counter with dedicated sushi chefs and bar-side seating, and the Robata Grill. The Robata Grill, ZUMA’s Japanese open fire barbeque, is inspired by the age-old cooking style of northern Japanese fishermen. A private dining area that seats up to 18 people will provide diners with a chance to experience ZUMA in a more intimate and private setting. Guests will also be invited to enjoy the beautiful Miami weather while dining in ZUMA’s outside seating and lounge area overlooking the Miami River.

There are several outposts of Zuma around the world including Hong Kong, Istanbul and Dubai but this version of Zuma will be located on the ground floor at EPIC and will be open for lunch Monday through Saturday (12 to 3pm) and dinner Monday through Saturday (6pm to 12am during the week; until 1am on Friday and Saturday.) Zuma will also have a bar and lounge that will be open from 12pm to 12am during the week and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Call 305.577.0277. for reservations.

Speaking of EPIC, the hotel is a featured sale on Jetsetter this week. We found room rates for a waterview premiere room starting at $180 a night. The sale ends in three days and you can book a stay at EPIC up through September.
