The venerable chef likes the word “comfort,” too. He’s loaded the menu here with “comfort food,” including pastas, beef tenderloin, a rack of lamb, and The Mark Cheeseburger. He explains on his blog that his favorite new dish debuting at the new space is his Croque M—a cross between a croque monsieur and croque madame. With Mornay sauce, gruyere, and comte, it sounds decadent.
In other words, it probably suits the new digs. What happens when Jean-Georges meets (the hotel’s designer) Jacques Grange? A stunning space that feels “high-end and flush,” says Vongerichten. If your wallet’s feeling the same, get in quick and make your reservation. And don’t forget to come back here and give us a play-by-play of your meal.
We love to eat vicariously through others. Keeps our wallets and waistlines slim.
