Attention Hotel Chefs: there is a new distinguished food award going around that you must take notice of.

Comedian Aziz Ansari and his prestigious Food Club have awarded its second plaque of 2010 to Michael Voltaggio, the Top Chef finalist, for his "remarkable meal" at The Dining Room at the Langham Pasadena. A bit more on the Food Club:

Food Club is one of the most prestigious and respected dining associations in the world. Founded in late 2009 by Captains Aziz Ansari, Eric Wareheim, and Jason Woliner, the club has dined at some of the finest establishments in Los Angeles and the world and presented their esteemed Food Club plaques to several world class chefs, most recently Chef David Myers of Sona.

The Food Club "captains" include...um... Ansari, Wareheim and Woliner and they wear kick-ass captains' hats. Something our high school clubs would never let us wear (Haters!)

At The Dining Room, The Food Club dined on the langoustine with lobster mushroom lasagna and the skate wing with scrambled cauliflower and caper powder. It was instantly deemed "plaque-worthy." The group managed a snapshot with Voltaggio but a plaque presentation is still "TBD." We can't wait to see who wins next!
