The Elysian Hotel to Get a Marc Jacobs Shop on Thursday

UPDATE: The store has opened a day early! Totally not standard hotel behavior! Anyways, according to the MJ Twitter, first 100 shoppers who show up and say, "Robert sent me" will get a "really cool gift."

While we are still waiting for one of our fave fashion designers, Marc Jacobs to create his own hotel, we'll have to make do with the Marc Jacobs hotel keychains (which we actually do own.) Yet there's another way to enjoy Marc during a hotel stay--at The Elysian Chicago, where MJ will be opening his own shop on February 25.

According to Metromix Chicago, this is a Marc Jacobs proper store which is more couture (and expensive) than his lower-priced Marc by Marc Jacobs line. This will be the first Marc Jacobs store for Chi-town and Metromix says:

[The store] will feature a super-tall wall covered with colored glass tile and dramatic cluster of light fixtures dripping down from the ceiling.

Meanwhile, room rates at the brand-new Elysian (it opened in November) are about the same as a Marc by Marc Jacobs frock. We found rooms for this Thursday at $349 a night for a king room with a fireplace.
