The Killer View at the One & Only Ocean Club

We don't know about you but we feel like it's been a mighty long week. We're sick of stomping on dirty snow in New York, and now it's melting and dripping off buildings and trees onto our heads. Gross. That's why we're finding our end-of-week solace in this snapshot of the Killer View from the One & Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas.

We dropped by this super-posh property last summer�we were too poor to stay over, but we did grab a mojito at the Pool Terrace Cafe. (Ordering rum punch in such classy surroundings just seemed... well, wrong.) Our tip to anyone doing likewise, however, is this: When you ask the front desk staff where the bar is and they direct you to the pool terrace, politely thank them and then say, "No, we mean the Dune Bar. This is where the money shot, the Killer View, is.

When we stumbled across the gorgeous lawn, the swaying palm trees, and this pretty little deck after our poolside cocktail, we were delighted. (The pool is sequestered away from the ocean, in the middle of the property.) Then we saw the Dune Bar�it's in that little white building a bit further along in the photo�and felt like complete morons.

We could have had our drink looking at this instead. Alas, we'd spent our allotted allowance for the day and were due back in Nassau for an appointment. "One day we'll be back," we sighed as we reluctantly dragged ourselves away.

If only that day were today...

p.s. One more tip: We took a free shuttle bus from Atlantis over to the One & Only Ocean Club. When we asked folks how to get to "the One & Only" they looked at us like we'd had a few rum punches too many. Bahamians simply call it: "the Ocean Club".
