Cassa Hotel is Aiming for April 1st Opening (No Foolin'!)

You've seen our Master List of Worldwide Hotel Openings in 2010 so you know that there a ton of new hotels on the cards for NYC. We expect delays with some of these, but today we're going to go along with the optimism of the folks behind the Cassa Hotel and Residences, who are racing to get the hotel portion of the building open by April 1st. (And they assure us this not an April Fool's prank.)

Our sneak peek at the model rooms for the condos that will sit atop the hotel floors at Cassa promise a very sleek, modern property, with lots of clean lines and well-placed pops of color. The hotel is working with a local art gallery to showcase pieces on its gallery-like white walls, and the obelisk-shaped building itself is designed to gleam amid the gray-upon-gray New York skyline.

From inside, the hotel room windows will frame views of the city so that they appear like artworks themselves. We hope to have interior sneak peeks of the Cassa for you soon, and in the meantime, we'll be cheering the hotel on from the sidelines as it sprints towards its goal of an April 1st finish line.
