Hotel Indigo Haiku at the Hotel Indigo San Diego

After the opening of the W South Beach, the noteworthy new Miami hotel news had subsided for a bit and we left ourselves to focus on the exploding New York Hotel Scene.

But today we found out that a Hotel Indigo would be opening on March 18 right on Washington Avenue.

The website details are scant and we're not even sure that picture of the Hotel Indigo awning was even taken in Miami.

However, doing a little digging we found that this used to be the Bel Aire South Beach Hotel which also used to be the Best Western South Beach.

Being on Washington Avenue, puts it about two blocks from the beach yet the hotel promises its own pool, free wireless internet (yay!), a Starbucks on-site and a Catch 10 Seafood Bistro which according to Yelp! is actually open right now.

But the best news here has to be the rates. Rooms for opening night were going for an affordable $148 a night for a non-smoking, queen bed (advance purchase required.) An executive room was going for $245 a night or $279 a night for the more flexible rate. Now, if only we could get some decent room photos. Anyone out there have some for us? Send 'em in.
