Contemplating Spring Break destinations? If the usual Floridian, Texan, and Mexican destinations are too played out, why not head south? Way south, to the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia? The Quay West Resort & Spa Noosa opens on March 18, and it's never been easier to get to Australia with airlines like V Australia and Delta now in the market.

Need to know more about Noosa? This picture says it all. While relatively small, Noosa is big on style, and a popular getaway spot for Australia’s rich and famous. It’s two hours drive north of Brisbane, and surrounded by lush, protected national park land.

The Quay West Resort & Spa has studios, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments with kitchens; a restaurant, gym, and conference center, and the Mii Day Spa. (In case your Wii avatar needs a little rejuvenating?)

Even though Spring Break is high season almost everywhere else tropical, it’s a great time to vacation in Australia—most folks are back at work and school after their extended summer holidays, and the only other busy period you may want to avoid is the week of Easter.
