Unlike a lot of the Academy-sanctioned shindigs, the W's party is cheap. It costs $30, and you can even knock that down to $20 by entering "oscar" as the promo code at checkout. We practically spent that amount for tickets to see Avatar in 3-D.
Of course, for that amount of money, you won't be getting filet mignon. It'll be more like a cocktail party. Your ticket will get you a drink, gourmet popcorn, a raffle ticket and access to the "Eye Candy" bar, an upscale snack and candy bar.
Although the spread and the ticket price might suggest that this is a casual affair, you're supposed to dress to impress. It is a W Hotel, after all. It may be in foreclosure, but the W will party like it's 1999 with festivities bumping on all three levels of the hotel.
If you decide to gawk at this year's Bjork swan dress equivalent at the hotel, your ticket will benefit the San Diego Film Foundation.
