Breathing a big sigh of relief here. After we smelled a rat that the W London was only taking bookings for October, despite being slated for a June 1 opening, Starwood have got in contact to say that all is not lost. They say:

The W London-Leicester Square is still on track to open Summer 2010. On our website we're selling rooms from 1st October 2010 but nearer the time we hope to bring that date forward to earlier in the summer once we are more clear on a specific opening date.

So there you have it. In our book, summer starts in May and ends in August, so we’ll be interested to know when they fix the date. And exactly where that date will be in relation to June 1.

Meanwhile, feast your imagination on these details: 192 rooms, interior design by Dutch firm Concrete and a contrast of “textures, colors and themes” in the bedrooms. W reckon it’ll be one of “the world’s most intriguing destinations”. Just try not to intrigue us too far past June 1, OK?

Is this open yet?

I read about this ages ago but is the hotel open yet? I'm looking for some serviced apartments to book at the moment.
