It Will Be All Eloise, All The Time, at The Plaza Hotel Next Week

Can’t afford the Live Like Eloise Slumber Party Package at New York’s The Plaza Hotel? What kind of parent are you? It’s only $3,450 a night! OK, so there is a recession going on and we should all be fiscally responsible, yadda yadda. Don't worry—for the rest of us, The Plaza is hosting a week of Eloise events that don’t require a deposit equivalent to the street value of a kidney.

The fun kicks off on Monday and runs through Friday, February 19th. This coincides with the kids’ winter break from school. Who knew? (And can we have one of those, too?)

Here’s what’s going down:
All events are held in two sessions per day, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 15: Watch the Eloise At The Plaza movie, and enjoy (presumably pink) refreshments.
Tuesday, Feb. 16: Make your own take-home craft.
Wednesday, Feb. 17: Make your own ice-cream sundae.
Thursday, Feb. 18: Listen to a reading of Eloise in Paris, again with refreshments.

Friday, Feb. 19 is the big day—Eloise illustrator Hillary Knight will be in the house signing copies of the Eloise books, from 12–2 p.m.

All events are free, but reservations are required—call 212-546-5460. It goes without saying that the festivities will take place in the Eloise at the Plaza Shop, so do remember to bring as much spare change as you can rustle up. Those pastel-pink headbands ain’t cheap.
