Ruh Roh! Not Even Santa Can Stay At Aloft Harlem Until December 27

All we've been hearing this week, as we travel through airports and malls, is Christmas carols. But one song we won't be hearing? "Deck the Halls of Aloft Harlem."

We really hoped that the constant postponements of the hotel's opening would end before Christmas--and we actually planned to bring you an update today saying: 'Yay, it's here!' But when we finally steeled ourselves to check on things, we saw that the website was carrying a new opening date: December 27.

We hate to sound cynical, now, but perhaps we will get to check out the city's first Aloft by Valentine's Day? Wouldn't that be sweet? Or should we say Easter, to be safe? Memorial Day?

The Harlem + Bespoke blog got us all excited when they wrote about the hotel's soft opening on December 2, and posted this photo. But if Aloft Harlem is in soft-opening mode, it's so soft we can't even feel it.

We're not sure what the delays are being caused by, but let's be clear: our disappointment stems wholly from our excitement about seeing this property. We really, really want to get a gander at this place. So much so we're making it one of our very first New Year's Resolutions.
