The hotel was set to open last fall but for now, it's just an empty-near finished building facing the beach that's frequented only by "maintenance crews and real estate types." Will someone please help this hotel find a home for Christmas? Well, at least Christmas 2011?
The Trump Fort Lauderdale Hotel Will Never Open
The 298-unit condo-hotel is beset by litigation, including two class action lawsuits from buyers and a foreclosure by a government-chosen successor to the original lender, Corus Bank.
Apparently, Trump terminated the licensing deal with the building's developers "a long time ago" and shouldn't be responsible for the building's financial woes, mainly defaulting on a $139 million loan.
