Christmas came early for HotelChatter! A tipster let us know that the website for the forthcoming Istanbul Edition was live, complete with photo renderings of the guest rooms, descriptions galore and even a few special room rate offers! So let's get right into it.

First up, let's talk about the rooms. After all, this hotel plans on being a seven-star hotel Strike that. The hotel has no plans for seven-star status but instead plans to be a "luxury lifestyle hotel."

Designed in conjunction with Gabellini Shepherd architects, the Istanbul Edition aimed for "quiet elegance" and "modern luxury" by using a color palate of bronze and silver-gold, with extensive use of pale and dark woods (check out the hard wood floors in the pics below!)

The hotel has six room categories (not including the Penthouse Suite)--Superior, Superior with Terrace, Deluxe, Deluxe with Terrace, Loft with Terrace and Deluxe Prime.

Guest rooms start at 320-sq.ft. and feature an entrance vestibule, bedroom area, work station and seating area with wall-to-wall windows overlooking the city. Amenities include down comforters and pillows, customized linen, custom designed furniture and fabrics, silk carpets, oversized closets, glass enclosed shower and rain showerheads, 42” Bang & Olufsen flat screen TV’s with full cable access, iPod docking station and best of all free WiFi.

The rooms look incredibly swank with hard wood floors and subtle, sexy but not dark decor. The rooms with the terraces also have teak floor terraces with landscaping and seating units. In short, we likey a lot.

So how much will staying at the new Edition cost? According to the hotel's special offers page, superior rooms will start at 265 € a night but that includes complimentary transportation to and from the airport. Deluxe rooms can be had for 295 € a night.

The other question is when will this hotel open? The special offer is good for stays through May 2011 so long as you book before March 30th but when we tried to book online, we got shuffled over to the Waikiki Edition booking page. Yet our sources tell us the hotel is on for an April/May opening. We'll be waiting!

Other things to know about the hotel? It will have a Cipriani restaurant, a lobby bar, a drawing room for more private drinks time and a nightclub which has no name but promises to be "one of Europe's exclusive clubs." (We've seen a report that it will be called The Millionaire Club but this is not confirmed.)

There will also be an espa at a massive 20,000-square-feet with plenty of treatment rooms, a pool and a fitness center. Lastly, there's plenty of meeting space, a grand ballroom and even a movie screening room.

There are not many photo renderings of the public spaces up on the site but the two that are there look very minimalist and a little cold. Hopefully, they will warm up once some people get in there.
