Guests Give Up Nakedness to Skate on the Standard NYC's New Ice Rink

The Standard NYC is known for its nekkid guests (and even employees) flaunting their business in front of the wall of windows. So imagine our surprise to hear that people are heading to the hotel all bundled up.

They are actually coming out to hit the brand-spankin'-new ice rink, which sits at Washington and 13th streets.

The 3,000-square-foot rink will also offer pick-up ice hockey in the mornings and skating lessons all day. Plus, there will be three kinds of skates available, for you Michelle Kwans out there.

After working up a sweat on the ice, you can indulge in a rich après-skate menu. Treats include cheese fondue with bread and crudites and a ranch burger; drinks on offer include a hot chocolate with the works—marshmallows, whipped cream, crushed candy cane and a shot of espresso—and hard pear cider. In fact, you have the option to spike anything on the beverage list with bourbon, brandy or dark rum.

Lace up and hit the ice at the hotel daily from 10 a.m. to midnight. Tickets cost $12 and skate rentals are $3.
