Sneak Peek at the New Hyatt Coming to Union Square in NYC

Back in November, we learned that Hyatt Hotels and Hersha Hospitality were teaming up to build a new Hyatt in Union Square in NYC at 13th Street and 4th Avenue. And while we still don't know what Hyatt brand will go in here, we do know that this is what the hotel is going to look like.
We found this shot on Kamali Wire, from hospitality consultant Steven Kamali. Kamali didn't disclose that this hotel would be a Hyatt but we put two and two together. Unless, there is another hotel opening up on the corner somewhere at 13th and 4th? We think not. But will it be called Union like the signage says or will it be called a Hyatt? That remains to be seen.
The ground-floor restaurant (whose separate entrance from the hotel is being designed by Paul Vega, formerly of Rockwell + W Hotels) and the rooftop lounge are currently looking for tenants. Yet as we learned from Hyatt last month, the restaurant concept will/should be "inspired by the local and organic Greenmarket."
Also, according to the Hyatt Blog, the 175-room hotel will open sometime in 2011. Over at Emporis.com, it looks like the building is still under construction but it has been topped out. Here's a real photo of the property taken in July.
We're liking the boutique-ish size of this place and the central location. We just hope it turns out to be something cooler than a Hyatt Regency.
