A Room In Soho For $200 a Night? Yep, Now The Courtyard By Marriott Is Open

It was meant to open in the fall, but hey, at least it made it before Christmas. While Harlem continues to wait for its Aloft, Soho gets itself a new hotel this week, with the Courtyard By Marriott Soho opening yesterday.
While the hotel lacks the design chops of its luxey-luxe neighbors, it should give people wanting to stay in Soho a much more affordable option. Not tonight, however, when the room rates at the new Courtyard start at $349 a night.
Weekend rates are more like $299 a night this month and if you want to spend Christmas downtown, the rates are just $199 a night. We also checked on weekdays in January, to get a better idea of what the regular rates will be here, and found an advance purchase rate of $220 a night. In this 'hood, that's a bargain.
Of course, this is likely to be mostly a business traveler hotel, with ergonomic chairs in each guestroom, and free WiFi throughout the hotel. There's also free in-room coffee and tea, however if you're driving a rental you'll need to make sure your boss will cover your parking: it's a whopping $60 a day.
