British designers Ben Rousseau and Ian Douglas-Jones, self-described hardcore Tron fans, re-created the icy cyber world in 12 days with -25.6-degree weather. To get the neon-looking effect, the designers used electroluminescent wire. They also used six tons of ice to make the 220-square-foot suite. Their work in crafting the suite was documented for the pilot of a new TV show, appropriately dubbed Extreme Design.
The "Legacy of the River" is one of the hotel's 19 Art Suites, which focus on design and sculpture. The rooms stay between 41 and 46 degrees and you get thermal sleeping bags and reindeer skins so you won't have to worry about freezing to death. Wintertime Art Suites start at $313 a night.
