While Miami hotels are focused on art, commerce and part-ays this week, we're already looking at what's happening next week. Specifically, on December 6, when the W South Beach becomes the first W Hotel to launch a smartphone app.

The free application will be available online and in the iTunes Store from Monday, and will let users access the hotel's Whatever/Whenever service from an iPad, iPhone, iPod or other smartphone device.

Like many of the hotel apps we've seen so far, this one will let you book rooms and make reservations, make appointments at the Bliss Spa and at the hotel's restaurants, Mr Chow and Soléa. If you're feeling particularly lazy, you can book a ride in the hotel's house car, an Acura MDX, and can even browse W The Store without having to leave your balcony overlooking the ocean.

The 'Passion Points' tab tells you all about W's signature style and music, with pieces on W Global Fashion Director Amanda Ross and Global Music Director Michaelangelo L'Acqua, and 'Happenings' will tell you what's going on in Miami during your stay.

Starwood Preferred Guests can also use the app to manage their accounts. You can check it all out now at wsouthbeach.com/app and download the app from Monday. Download it by December 10 and you'll snag a complimentary WOW accessory. We have no idea what the swag is, but apparently it's "perfectly suited for any mobile user." Smartphone bedazzlement, here we come?
