Our first reaction to this photo of a Deluxe Studio Suite (with Balcony) is, "Ooh, doesn't it look a bit like The Crosby Street Hotel with the pink headboard?" This may be our favorite decor of all the Art Series Hotels so far, and we're not just saying that because we studied artist Charles Blackman in high school.
For a little comparison, check out the contemporary look of The Cullen and the serene landscape-centric vibe of The Olsen here.
Other important, but non-art-related notes on The Blackman: a portion of the 207 rooms and suites have private terraces, the hotel has a Blackman gym and two restaurants: Fleur, a French patisserie café, and Classico, serving one of Melbourne's finest cuisines: Italian.
Oh, and in case you're wondering which artists get the boutique hotel treatment next, the remaining Art Series hotels are The Larwill, The Whitely and The Knight. (Time to hit those art books!)
