5 Affordable NYC Hotels for Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

Visiting New York City for Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is one of the most coveted Big Apple trips, which means that it's also one of the most expensive. But you don't need a hotel with grand parade views, especially when keeping the budget down is very necessary.

We found several decent hotel rates on Expedia (and cross-checked on the hotels' own websites*) that won't put a dent in your Black Friday spending but will put you near all of the float action over Thanksgiving weekend.

See these 5 affordable Thanksgiving hotels after the jump.

· Fashion 26
We found available rooms at this Chelsea hotel for an average of $262 a night for a superior king. Sure, you won't see the parade from your room, but you do get free WiFi and cupcakes . Sweet. (Note: This hotel is listed as sold-out on their website, but rooms are still open on Expedia.)

· Gild Hotel
Cupcakes not your thing? For more of an adult amenity, you can get designer condoms at this Financial District hotel. Rooms are $212 for a superior king room but if you book an advance purchase rate, you can knock that down to $191 a night.

· W New York
You can snag a room at one of the city's original W hotels for just $269. And since it's located on Lexington Avenue, it's just a few blocks from the parade action.

· The Carlton Hotel
Stay at the Murray Hill hotel, with rooms going for a low $191 on Expedia ($239 on the hotel's own site), and you can rest your parade-weary self in the new Salon Millesime with a cocktail and some live music.

· The Marcel at Gramercy
The hotel's Polar Lounge, a cozy Arctic-inspired bar without the chilly temps, makes this a good parade wind-down spot. You might run into Matt Damon there. Standard full and queen rooms are going for $223 a night.
