On another Ace-related note, although it’ll take a little getting used to if you’re accustomed to hotels that wait on you hand and foot (there’s no elevator, no room service and self-serve breakfast downstairs), it was a huge relief to be somewhere that offered self parking for a reasonable $19 a day just two blocks away (which worked out as a couple of dollars more than if we’d parked on the street – but not having to feed the meter every two hours was worth every cent) instead of having valet only parking that costs over $30.
Yep, after a couple of weeks of your hotels trying to rinse you for the privilege of parking your wheels, it’s nice to have a spot of DIY. And even nicer to think Drew had been DIYing it in preparation for our stay.
Disclosure: Juliab stayed as a guest of the Ace as part of a feature for a UK magazine, but all opinions are her own.
