Hotel bars are not always cheap, we know. But if you can save on your room rate, you can channel the savings into your drinking budget. Which is what we'd do if we booked that $199 Travelzoo rate for the W New York Downtown.
And the drink we'd spring for, especially right now in prime holiday season, would be the Autumn Spark cocktail, served at the hotel's Living Room bar.
We sampled one of these cocktails during our recent investigative reporting on holiday cocktails in NYC (we take this task very seriously), and can tell you that the blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh pear, Stolichnaya Gala Applik, bitters and Champagne is refreshing and delicious.
The cinnamon and nutmeg makes it all holiday-like but the Stoli and Champagne keep it from tasting too heavy.
