A Renaissance Is Coming To Arlington (A Hotel, That Is)

Whichever way things swing in 2012, one thing's for sure: a new Renaissance is headed D.C. way. Well, a Renaissance Hotel, at any rate. The new hotel, scheduled to open next March or April is actually in Arlington, VA, but conveniently close to Reagan National Airport and just over the Potomac from D.C.

The Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel will be LEED-certified and, according to its website, have "the soul of a boutique hotel with the location and amenities suited for business in and around the nation's capital."

Perhaps the most exciting part of the property, from a hotel geek point of view, is the use of top-of-the-line tech. Apparently, smartphone apps will be able to control A/V in the event spaces and cell-phone and internet connectivity will run on "enhanced networks." (Alas, it won't be free. Guest WiFi and wired access is $12.95 a day.)

Whether you're a lobbyist, a spy, or big corporate type, this location is ideal--PBS, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, IBM, the Pentagon and EPA are all nearby.

We plugged a random date, April 11, into the online rezzie system, and found rooms available from $299 a night.
