Susan Sarandon Is Bringing Her Ping Pong Talents To South Beach

After we checked out the new SPiN Ping Pong Club at the Mondrian Los Angeles, we speculated that one of Morgans Hotel Group's London properties should be the next hotel to get its balls on. Silly us--the next place we'll see a SPiN will be much closer to that, even if just in pop-up form.

Miami's Delano Hotel is hosting an "Art Star Ping Pong tournament" during Art Basel Miami Beach--along with SPiN, Vanity Fair and the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami.

SPiN doyenne Susan Sarandon will be in the house for the tourny, which takes place Saturday, December 4. While it appears to be an invite-only affair, perhaps super-duper ping-pongers have a shot at getting in. Not to mention the usual artsy-hangers on that so enjoy Basel week in Miami.

The Delano is once again turning its Florida Room into Parisian nightclub Le Baron for Basel afterparties, making the hotel one of the surefire hot spots for the entire week of Dec 2-5.

The official travel agent for Art Basel Miami Beach is offering blocks of rooms at the Delano, but they require a five-night minimum stay and rates are only available on request. Over on the Delano's own website, rooms are sold out on December 2 and 3, but we found availability on December 4—starting at $695 a night.
