We know that the older crowds are fond of the Waldorf Astoria Collection but these people might be too old, even for the luxury hotel chain.

According to the Daily Mail, an ancient Roman settlement has been unearthed in Syon Park on the site of the forthcoming Waldorf Astoria Syon Park, just outside of London.

Around 11,500 fragments of pottery, 100 coins and jewellery were uncovered by the experts from the Museum of London Archaeology, along with burial sites containing human remains and a Roman road.

The findings are quite comprehensive and most of them are reported to be very well preserved, giving archaeologists a better insight into the daily life of Roman Britain.

Naturally, the hotel is eager to incorporate the findings into their experience when they open sometime in 2011. So expect to see a guided tour, possibly some history classes and maybe even a mini-archaeological experience for the kiddies.

And if you were concerned about the hotel's construction further disrupting the site, the excavation of the area was actually done in 2008. It's only the content of the findings that were released today.
