This is the resort's 27th annual A Country Christmas event, which includes an ice-sculpture world, and tons of Christmas shows including the Radio City Rockettes, ICE!, Louise Mandrell’s ‘The Gift’ Christmas Dinner & Show; and shows aboard the General Jackson Showboat. Then there's our favorite part (green advocates, look away): the way they make the entire property and grounds glow with more than 2 million lights.
While the hotel took a serious blow, with floodwaters damaging about 70 percent of common areas, it's bouncing back better than ever, with three new restaurants and a wine bar, a refurbished lobby with new tech, redesigned guest rooms, and improved energy efficiency systems (there--that makes up for all those lights!)
The Opryland is celebrating the reopening this weekend, with a three-day party that kicks off with the holiday lighting ceremony and will also include performances from Keith Urban and Sheryl Crow.
Rooms start at $209 a night this weekend, and there are also A Country Christmas Vacation Packages available that include tickets to shows.
