We love what we've seen of The Nolitan so far and were hoping it would make our list of favorite new hotels of 2010. But it looks like we'll have to wait until 2011, as we've just gotten word that the hotel's new opening date is February 1.

Hopefully this is a case of good things come to those who wait and, hey, at least we'll have something to cheer us up in the depths of the New York winter.

The lobby lounge, with its sunken living room, library and board games, certainly sounds like it will be a good place to hole up on a cold February night--especially since you'll be able to order food and drinks there from the hotel's restaurant, J&S Food Hall.

In the meantime, The Nolitan has prettied up its website, with more photos of the rooms and information about its amenities. The online rezzie system also seems to be in order, and we found rooms available on February 1 from $314 a night.

Interestingly, the new opening date means The Nolitan will go head to head with its new neighbor, Mondrian New York, which is also slated to open in February.

Its opening date was meant to be February 1 as well, but today the earliest we're finding availability for is February 10--from $399 a night.
