The next hiccups came on the Perry-Brand honeymoon in the Maldives. The gossip mags are reporting that Katy was bitten by a spider their first day there.
Aussie magazine Grazia says that the bride developed a nasty rash on her legs from the bite, which led her to take drowsy-making meds, leaving her unable to consummate the marriage. Hey, who knows if this stuff is true--being hotel nerds, we skipped ahead to the part where it said they were staying at the Soneva Fushi resort, a secluded, $8000-a-night location that is supposedly "paparazzi proof."
Meanwhile, this newspaper in the Maldives report says that the couple:
first transferred to Four Seasons Kuda Hura before surreptitiously transferring to Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru after supposed media intrusion. The couple have now reportedly departed for yet another resort.
For all we know, this could be total hogwash, but we've gotta say, we're enthralled. Noise complaints at your wedding in India, spiders in atolls on the Indian Ocean, hotel-hopping around Four Seasons resorts in the Maldives... it all sounds dreadfully exciting from where we sit.
Maybe once she's resurfaced from the honeymoon, Katy will dish the whole juicy story to us over high tea. Meet you at Claridge's, KP?
