The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund Is Open for Business

When we last checked in on the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, we found out that it was open for reservations starting September 15. It looks like the the date was pushed back, but don't fret, reservations opened October 1, so you are good to go to visit China's first outpost of the brand.

Rezzies are only being taken for the Waldorf Astoria Club, a suite-only building of the hotel. Six of the 20 suites have a view of the Bund.

The new Waldorf Astoria Club resides in the 100-year-old heritage building that used to house the famed Shanghai Club. The suites themselves come with poster beds, blackout curtains and free Internet access. The marble-finished bathrooms have clawfoot tubs, separate showers and televisions in the mirror.

The 251-room New Tower is expected to open later this year. The New Tower will be connected to the Waldorf Astoria Club via a courtyard. It’ll include regular rooms as well as a sure-to-be-swanky Chairman's Suite and President Suite.

Suites in the Waldorf Astoria Club start at 6,375 CNY or $951.47 a night.
