London's 45 Park Lane Will Now Open in early 2011

The Dorchester Collection has been on a roll lately, having recently opened up their country hotel, Coworth Park in so we guess we can forgive them for the slight delay on their next hotel, 45 Park Lane.
The London hotel was set to open at that Park Lane address inside the old Playboy Club in late 2010 but looking at the hotel's website today we see that's been moved to early 2011.
The hotel will still have the 45 guestrooms and a large penthouse suite as planned and Thierry Despont has been tasked with the hotel's architecture and design which is set to be modern with an intimate club-like feel. But there's another little twist.
The hotel will also be green:
The exterior will be equally stylish with a revamped facade incorporating specialist eco-friendly ‘fins’ made from aluminium to utilize solar power within the hotel’s heating and cooling processes.
So now we know it will be an intimate hotel (aka exclusive) with a sexy history, a posh location and eco-friendly street-cred. Wealthy jetsetters are no doubt having their butlers wipe the saliva off their chins right now. We'll keep you posted on when you can make reservations but until then, Soho House and Firmdale Hotels, you've been warned.
