First it was the W London, and then it was the St John Hotel now it’s the Premier Inn who has chosen Leicester Square as their new home.

The budget brand hotel chain will complete a £6 million pound renovation of the old Queen's Hotel located on the north side of Leicester Square. With all of these luxury hotels opening in the neighbourhood budget travelers will be happy to see they haven’t been forgotten.

Plus just because you’re staying at the Premier Inn it doesn’t mean you can’t use the services at the W London or enjoy the restaurant at the St John. It just means you get to stay in the area at a fraction of the price .

The hotel will have 84 rooms and feature the usual Premier Inn “comfortable beds, great food and surprisingly low prices”. We’re not sure we fully agree with this statement but if you’re looking for a cheap bed for the night you can’t go wrong with a Premier Inn. Even celebrities stay there sometimes, back in June Jay-Z, Beyonce and Sir Paul have all checked in.

The Premier Inn isn’t the first budget hotel to open in central tourist in London this year. The Tune Hotel opened in Westminster last month. However as we know the room price is only part of the cost, with everything and anything else costing extra. Scrap this we say and go for the Premier Inn, the price you pay is the price you see.

The hotels opening date has been set for spring 2012 – let’s just hope they don’t suffer the same fate as their neighbours and have to push back the date.
