The reality TV competition, America's Got Talent, is known for providing wacky, bizarre, and sometimes frightening entertainment week after week but this past weekend, during the show's audition process at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, things went horribly wrong.

TMZ reports that a contestant, Joe Finley, who was auditioning for the show, is now a person of interest in the death investigation of his wife.

Laura Finley was found at the bottom of a stairwell inside the hotel on Saturday morning by another hotel guest. It is believed she fell from the 11th floor to the third. She had been missing for several hours.

Worse, her husband apparently knew she had been missing but he still went on to the America's Got Talent audition. And this is where it gets really bizarre.

Finley claims when he woke up Laura was not there -- and he called hotel security and asked them to page her over the public address system. Oddly, Finley says he then left for his 2PM audition. He claims police approached him on his way to the audition and showed him a picture of Laura's face with injuries. Finley claims he assumed, at that point, that Laura was dead ... though cops didn't tell him that.

Finley is now considered police a person of interest in his wife's death and he has also been arrested for drug possession. He's been released on bail and has denied any involvement in her death.

As for the Biltmore, it's one of those grand old hotels in downtown LA where parts of the movie "Ghostbusters" was filmed but today, it's a rather affordable spot to stay--rooms this weekend are on sale at $99 a night.

Just a few days ago, the was brimming with reality show hopefuls rehearsing their talent routines before things took a dark turn. Now, we can totally see this incident making its way onto TV as it has Law and Order: Los Angeles written all over it.
