The Gotham Hotel Will Open Any Minute Now at $225 a Night

It looks like Gotham Hotel, a spot which we hardly had on our opening radar two weeks ago, could be opening as early as tonight.
A source tells us there's a soft-opening party going on tonight but whether that means guests can stay there after, we aren't sure. However, the website does promise the joint will open in "Mid-October" which looking at our calendar is right about now.
Reservations, as we reported on Monday, will also start at $225 a night which is extremely reasonable for NYC these days (You have to email in your request at this time as online booking is not up yet.)
Even better, all rooms will feature terraces and loft-like ceilings with the smallest category--One--starting at 280-sq.ft. with a queen bed and the biggest room--Skyline--maxing out at 460-sq.ft. with a king bed.
The "scary skinny" hotel, called that because of its narrow width, is now looking rather pleasant.
