Yesterday's Guess the Hotel was more than just a techie toilet; it was a preview of the abundance of in-room technology at the Peninsula Tokyo. We had only barely grasped the Tokyo subway system when we checked into The Peninsula a few nights ago, and then we found ourselves face-to-face with a panel telling us not only the outside temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius, but also the wind speed.

A typical room at The Peninsula Tokyo does boast of such advances around every corner, but because there is an entire team of R&D guys plus patents behind all of it, guests will find most of these control panels easier to use than perhaps a simple light switch—hit "Master" and everything goes out, of course!

Start drooling now for a full photo gallery. We'll have the video tour and more next week.

Disclosure: HotelChatter stayed as a guest of The Peninsula, but all opinions, photos and phrases are our own.
