We thought Friday was a little quiet for what was meant to be the big opening day for the JW Marriott Marquis Miami and Hotel Beaux Arts--and as it turns out, the big day was postponed until this Friday, October 22.

Rates at the new downtown tower have jumped now that the opening offer is no longer on tap--we found an advance purchase rate for opening night for $269 a night, but it allows for no changes or cancellations. A more flexible weekend rate was available for just $20 more.

To get a taste of all the JW Marriott Marquis has to offer, the hotel is offering a Miami Premiere package for stays between October 29 through December 30. The offer starts at $389 a night, but includes the following ways to get to know the new property:

· A complimentary room upgrade for any preferred room type
· An in-room welcome bottle of wine
· Daily breakfast at ThreeFortyFive Restaurant
· Complimentary appetizer and cocktail at Daniel Boulud’s db Bistro Moderne
· $250 Rik Rak Spa & Salon credit
· Vouchers for illy coffee + pastry in Intermezzo, illy Artisti del Gusto Café
· Priority access to the virtual bowling alley and billiards room

The $250 credit at Rik Rak alone makes this sound like a good deal to us, especially if you're keen on staying two nights and exploring the hotel. (There is a two-night minimum.)

Meanwhile, Hotel Beaux Arts is not opening until November. The first date we could find availability for was November 15, with rooms starting at $400 a night.
