If ordering your food via a touchscreen in a glossy food court is not your scene, don't panic. FoodParc is no longer the sole dining option at The Eventi Hotel. But if you want to hit up the new Bar Basque restaurant, you'd better be a huge fan of the color red. Like, huge.

This is just one photo of the space which opened last Thursday night--click on over to Gothamist or Eater NY if you think you can handle more. (As always, safety comes first, kids. Don't push it.)

When the Eventi website promised that "dining at Eventi is a multisensory experience that will magnetize critics and casual diners alike", they weren't kidding, huh? The red is certainly doing something to our senses, although we can't speak of the magnetism just yet.

If there's anything that will draw us in, though, it's Spanish food, so we're getting famished just reading the menu for the place. We know that we'll be indulging in a few servings of Jamon Iberico and anything loaded with ajillo when we get to Bar Basque, but we imagine that the Seafood Paella and grilled fish options will be popular, too.

Have you eaten at Bar Basque yet? What did you try? Also: Did you need new bifocals after being assaulted with all that redness as you ate? Do tell! Share your Bar Basque experience with us in comments below.
