South Beach Hotels Sex Up Their Nightspots For High Season

Now LIVE: The Upper Lobby at The Ritz-Carlton South Beach.

Wait just a minute there, Soho Beach House! You may be attracting Miami's movers and shakers with your newness, but other hotels on the beach have been prepping for the high season on the way as well--and have spruced up their nightspots in advance.

The Ritz Carlton South Beach isn't exactly known as party central (and thank god for that--we do need some reprieve from the Ocean Drive thump thumpin'). But with a brand new live-music spot, LIVE, the hotel is now a contender for kicking off a night of revelry.

Plus, good news for anyone who has trouble staying awake late enough to hit up the club scene--LIVE is a 7 to 11 p.m. affair, every Thursday through Saturday.

LIVE is located on the upper lobby of the hotel, and is the place for checking out DJs spinning Euro lounge tunes on Thursday and Friday nights. Saturdays are all about Tango Conspiracy, a group of local musicians fronted by Argentine Jimena Fama that was voted Miami's "Best Electronic Tango group" by the Miami New Times. Meanwhile, further up Collins at the W South Beach, tonight is the grand re-opening of WALL Lounge, fresh from recent renovations. We don't have much detail on what's new, but we're glad to see that the nightcrawlers still have somewhere to go. When WALL closed (temporarily) for the work to be done, we noticed a number of panicked tweets wondering if it was dunzo for good.

Not so, but good luck getting in!
