Despite the delay on Duffield Street, peeps wanting to stay in Brooklyn shouldn't be left high and dry. Sister property, Sheraton Brooklyn opened earlier this year on the same block, and we've seen some pretty good rates for that hotel from time to time. (Albeit, paid-in-advance, non-refundable ones. About a month ago, we found a room for $161 a night. Now the best rate is around $269 a night.)
We're not sure how Aloft's w xyz bar concept will play out in NYC yet--doesn't that decor look a little bit like an old person's idea of what's young and hip?--but we're definitely intrigued to see the rooms and experience Aloft in person.
Looks like Harlem will be our first chance, giving Brooklyn the opportunity to work out any kinks before its big reveal in January.
