Pack Your Hermes Bag--The Soho Beach House Is Now Open In Miami
Today may be Columbus Day, but down in Miami, the day is all about the Brit Invasion, with the opening of Soho Beach House.
The club portion of the latest "House" in the stable already has 750 members and a long waiting list--but if you're impatient and don't have the $1,500 membership fee at your disposal, you can still check out the scene by checking into the hotel.
Oddly, the online reservation system seems to have disappeared from the Soho Beach House website, and a note tells visitors to call for all "reservation enquiries."
The listed rates, however, start at $400 a night for a 'Side Room', which is described as "intimate and cozy" at 350-400 square feet. The Beachside Rooms start at $625.
For a look inside, and to hear Soho House founder Nick Jones talk about how he's after struggling artists as much as successful artists, check out this YouTube video posted by the Miami Herald.
