Then there are the Nintendo Wii systems and a self-service bar. Owner Parimal "Perry" Patel told Palo Alto Online that he drew on his own preferences in hotels when creating Hotel Keen's amenities, aiming for an experience that is "practical, efficient and concise."
It sounds like Patel also looked to Kimpton for inspiration--he hopes that the lobby will become a place for guests to hang out and enjoy a glass of wine.
Hotel Keen is the first new hotel in Palo Alto in a decade, and may signal a new wave of development for the area. According to Palo Alto Online, there are at least three new hotels on the horizon, including a Hilton.
Rates at Hotel Keen start at $149 a night.
