Brooklyn, of course, already has a chain hotel—the Marriott, a few streets over from this Duffield Street duo. But it's kinda old and has never quite gotten over being known as the place that Mike Tyson got arrested for assaulting autograph-seekers. There is also a Holiday Inn Express in Park Slope, but it's right near the Gowanus Canal and always looks a little sad or skeevy (or both) when we walk past.
There are few details to share on either hotel yet, other than the standard amenities you've seen at Sheratons and Alofts in other places, but we noticed that Sheraton is promising "a lobby designed so you can socialize with new friends or old." We're not sure how many of our Brooklyn friends will want to trek down to the no-man's-land (at night, anyway) for a glass of red, but you never know.
And if whatever food the hotel serves up just doesn't do it for us, we can always skip on over to Junior's, home to that world-famous cheesecake Diddy loves so much, and one of our favorite old-school cocktail bars in the borough, if not the entire city.
