Normally when we play GTH with you, we put down the hints, you throw down your comments and we reveal all the following day. But every so often we ask you to Guess the Hotel because we seriously don't know what's going on.
A tipster sent in this picture of a hotel rising on the East Side of Manhattan at 16 E. 46th Street and it looks like the scaffolding is starting to come down. We wondered about this hotel back in June and according to Curbed the new hotel has risen on the site of the old Gotham Book Mart. It is without a doubt, scary skinny and judging from these renderings, a little scary inside as well. The architecture firm behind it is C3D and Wired New York says the developer is from Montenegro.
A commenter on our last story says the hotel was in the works before the economy collapsed last year but judging from this picture, it looks very much on track. We wonder if the plans for a high-end 70-seat full service restaurant, balconies in every room and a sky-top yoga room are still in the works.
