Is the Hotel del Coronado Shilling Budweiser?

A National Historic Landmark, the legendary Hotel del Coronado is usually remembered as the setting for Marilyn Monroe's old Hollywood flick Some Like It Hot. The posh beachfront hotel isn't exactly the background you picture for a Budweiser ad.

But at the nearby Avenue Liquor Store, at 9th and Orange Ave., a window display has a poster-sized photo of iconic hotel with three big bottles of Bud plastered in front of it.

According to eCoronado.com, some locals seem to be unhappy with the poster because it's near a grocery store where kids hang out and they don't want children to associate the iconic hotel with Bud. Sure, there aren't any half-naked women or burping frogs on the poster, but we're worried that such promotional material is actually tarnishing the Del's reputation as a classy joint.

As of this posting, officials at the Del were looking into the matter to see whether the use of the hotel's image is legit.
