The Hyatt Regency Suites Palm Springs unveiled its much-needed makeover, transforming the property from a budget-looking hotel to one that at least seems worthy of the Hyatt moniker.

Before the $15 million makeover, guests complained about the outdated rooms and decor, the outside noise, and the tiny gym, all of which went for a not-cheap $269 a night. But the hotel, along with the help of architecture firm Looney Ricks and Kiss, tried to address the criticisms with its new redesign.

Each renovated suite comes with a separate living room, bedroom, bathroom and private balcony. The suites also are pimped out with two 42-inch LCD televisions, new sofa sleepers, soundproof glass doors as well as marble bathrooms.

As part of the overhaul, the hotel expanded its gym to a 1,600-square-foot facility and redesigned the pool and jacuzzi areas with fire pits and cabana suites with private patios, bamboo floors and direct access to the new pool.

In an effort to regain some cool cred, the Hyatt created a new bar, SHARE Wine Lounge, which features both indoor seating near the fireplace and seating on a heated outdoor patio.

Funny enough, you won't have to pay all that much more for the new suites. We found rooms starting at $299 a night, only $30 more than before the revamp.
