We've already taken you on a tour of our room inside of the first (and currently only) Missoni Hotel in Edinburgh, but a look at a hotel with this much detail and vibrancy wouldn't be complete without a tour of the public spaces.

Although we opted not to add the breakfast onto our room bill, we still explored the hotel's Cucina Restaurant, the lobby bar/lounge, and we even made it to the small gym on the hotel's second floor, which is called the first floor in Europe. We were thrilled to see that the Missoni touch was not lost on anything, and even the gym featured brightly-painted walls, Missoni towels, and the quirky addition of a mini Smeg refrigerator. You'll only find our tour of reception and the bar in the video above, but after the jump, we've got a full gallery of all the public spaces inside of the Missoni Hotel Edinburgh.

We arrived to the Missoni Hotel on a Thursday evening, and the scene was pretty quiet. With an empty bar and a quiet night all around, we should have taken the opportunity to hit the bar. But no, we got lazy up in our comfortable room with the minibar and its free Peroni beers.

On Friday night though, the place was hopping and every table in the bar was filled, even including the little ones near reception. Most people imbibing and sampling the little Italian appetizers available in the bar seemed to be locals. It made us feel a little bit better about the place, that it did at least get some action from the city. The hotel remained quiet though; despite our second-floor room location, the bustle of the downstairs bar and the location on a major street, we slept in peace and quiet.

Do we recommend the Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh? Yes, absolutely...BUT only if you're in favor of high design and colorful hallways and don't mind helping yourself to the minibar. Business travelers might want to stay clear.
