The ironic thing is that were in town for the Consumer Electronics Show. You know, to gawk at the most technological inventions the geeks of the world could come up with. We saw 3-D TVs, jeeps equipped for gaming, and someone placing a Skype call using their HD TV. And yet ... there we were paying for WiFi and paying to print a document.
It's not just The Flamingo that charges for WiFi in Vegas, of course. Almost all casinos charge for in-room access, unless they have a resort fee. Since we had to work we sucked that up—and were grateful for the resort fee over at Vdara, our next stop.
But let's talk about the printing for a second. We just needed to print one page—but there is a $5 minimum when using a credit card at the Junction (and we couldn't get the cash doo-hickey to work). Since our one page kept coming out all wrong, our charges actually ran up to $6.41. That's money we would have much rather wasted on the slots or on a stupid tchotchke to send to our Nanna.
We know lots of hotels let you print your boarding pass for free (as the kind folks at Vdara's Business Center did) but what about those other documents you need while traveling? Do you take your own mini-printer along, or do you use something like the Internet Junction? And what grinds your gears the most? Paying for WiFi, or paying for printing?
We've had our rant for the day. Over to you...
