Believing "[f]ew things go together better than great hotels and great cinema," the site has paired unique movies with Design Hotels locations worldwide. Here's how the dynamic duo's tie-in deal plays out:

Every two weeks, [The Auteurs] will announce a pairing of one fantastic Design Hotel™ member with a movie based on a common location or theme. When booking this featured hotel during this period, Hotel Cinematheque, guests will receive an exclusive promotional code which will allow them to watch the high quality streaming movie on The Auteurs website complimentary!

The most recent pairing is Kube Hotel Paris with the movie Love Songs, a festival favorite, while next up is the Sofa Istanbul with the 2006 Turkish film Climates.

We also got the inside scoop on a contest that The Auteurs is launching later today via their Facebook fan page, where users can tag a posted film still with their name, pair a film with the hotel of their choice, and write a quick comment about said pairing. A celeb judge will be called in on February 8th to do the same, and if your pairings match, you'll win access to a mondo party at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival.

So, even if you don't book a hotel, you still have a chance to win, but we suggest you start thinking about your dream movie plus hotel marriage now. Here's a tip: you'll want to brush up on films of Godard's ilk, not bajillion-dollar box office champs. Sorry, Avatar, we don't think there's a Design Hotel location on Pandora.
